April 2013

Oral medicine is the discipline of dentistry concerned with the care of medically compromised patients, and the diagnosis and nonsurgical management of medically related conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial region. The April issue of the Journal of the California Dental Association is focused on three aspects of infectious oral lesions: herpes simplex virus, oral candidiasis and orofacial infections in children.

 

March 2013

The March 2013 issue of the Journal of the California Dental Association covers a variety of topics including a review of lateral wall sinus floor elevation and available graft materials; a new approach to correcting a Class III malocclusion and the endodontic treatment and esthetic management of a primary double tooth.

 

February 2013

Salivary diagnostics has taken a significant posture in dentistry based on its recent advancements in the basic, translational and clinical sciences. The February 2013 issue of the Journal of the California Dental Association presents key enabling factors that must be in alignment in order for salivary diagnostics to reach clinical maturation.

 

January 2013

The January 2013 issue of the Journal features new and young investigators who are interested in translational research. This is the research of turning clinical observations, basic research findings, and technological innovations into clinical strategies for taking care of our patients.
