2024 Event FAQs

Why is CDA moving to a single location for its largest event and adding smaller events?

Informed by member surveys, focus groups and feedback, we continually evaluate our education offerings and reshape them to deliver value across our membership. Future education offerings and formats will provide members flexibility, meet their learning preferences and offer options for every stage of practice.

Will there be more discounted hotels for the larger attendance at the 2024 convention?

CDA will continue to monitor hotel needs and offer a hotel room block for CDA Presents at competitive rates.

Will CDA’s 2024 convention be longer than 3 days?

Not at this time. We recognize how much effort it takes to be out of the office and want to provide the best experience possible over an extended weekend.

Will you rotate north and south locations for the convention?

At this time, we plan on hosting CDA Presents only in Anaheim.

Will there be any travel discounts for CDA’s convention?

CDA works with airlines and hotels to bring the best deals to our convention attendees.

Will there be more livestream courses offered for the 2024 convention?

There is not a plan to offer additional livestream courses at the 2024 convention at this time.

I prefer not to travel to Anaheim. What are my options?

We’ll continue to share many online offerings throughout the year, both live virtual and through an on-demand learning library. We’ll be bringing smaller, more focused events to members in many different locations throughout the state.

I've been earning C.E. in San Francisco. How can I meet my requirements?

Required C.E. is offered on-demand to take at your convenience, but we’ll have many different options – including new in-person and live virtual events, as well as the convention in Anaheim.

When will CDA share the details of all the new programs?

We hope to announce our full 2024 educational event lineup for you and your team’s consideration and planning by late fall 2023.

What opportunities will there be for my dental team?

We recognize the importance of the dental team being able to learn, connect and grow together. There will be a dedicated dental team event connected to CDA’s convention in 2024, as well as a separate standalone dental team event in Northern California.

What opportunities will there be for associates and early career dentists?

We’ll be offering early career dentist tracks at the convention in 2024, as well as fun in-person networking and learning events in select California venues. Associate-focused opportunities are coming in 2024 too.

How much will these new events cost? Will there be member discounts?

CDA will have a robust offering of online and in-person events – some will have no fees, and some will offer preferred pricing for members.

What are the locations for new events? Is Northern California included?

The new events will be in person and throughout the state – both Northern and Southern California locations.

Will there still be on-demand training and live virtual events?

Yes! We will keep our robust online offering and continue to offer live virtual events throughout the year.

ADA Continuing Education Recognition Program (CERP)

CDA is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.

CDA designates each activity for a specified number of C.E. units. These courses meet the Dental Board of California requirements for continuing education units.
