This presentation is made to owners, managers and supervisors of a professional group. The subject matter of this training program is preventing harassment and other abusive conduct in the workplace.
The Topics Include the following:
- Introduction and Materials. Why this topic, brief introduction to harassment law, and presentation of materials.
- The Law – Statutory. Current law, pursuant to the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and Title VII.
- The Basics. Definition under the law (quid pro quo and hostile work environment harassment), types of conduct that constitute unlawful harassment and practical examples.
- Prevention. Training, implementation and follow through.
- If Harassment Occurs: a. The complaint process; b. The investigation; c. Consequences; d. Remedies/liability.
- Retaliation. Post-complaint/harassment violations.
- Employer’s Policy.
- Open Forum. Q & A, including discussion of additional practical examples and cases.
Learning Objectives: This important legal topic provides those in attendance with up-to-date legal and practical training in this sensitive area of the law, which attendees may face in their own workplaces. The goal of the program is to better inform and sensitize attendees with respect to this area of the law.
