The Dentists Insurance Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Todd Lewis as its new president and chief executive officer. Lewis will lead all operations for TDIC and TDIC Insurance Solutions, serving 24,000 policyholders in 15 states.

Lewis, who most recently served as TDIC’s chief operating officer, joined TDIC in 2018 as vice president of insurance operations. Prior to joining TDIC, Lewis served as vice president of finance for the California Dental Association. He succeeds past president and CEO Bob Spinelli who recently retired. Spinelli will serve as an outside director on the TDIC Board of Directors.

“We’re thrilled to have Todd on board as CEO of TDIC. Over the past six years, Todd has been instrumental in ensuring TDIC’s strong financial stability even during economic downturns and despite market volatility in the insurance industry,” said TDIC Board Chair Natasha Lee, DDS. “We’re also excited to have Bob remain with us on the TDIC Board, providing his expertise to best serve policyholders who depend on TDIC for protection.”

For over 40 years, TDIC has protected only dentists by providing exceptional insurance products, including professional and dental business liability, commercial property and workers’ compensation. Additionally, TDIC is celebrating its 30th consecutive year of earning the A.M. Best Company’s “A” rating, which includes comparisons to peers and industry standards as well as assessments of operating performance, business philosophy and management.

“In addition to providing our policyholders with high-quality products and distinctive service, I’m excited to ensure TDIC continues to meet the ever-changing needs of dentistry,” said Lewis. “I look forward to serving our policyholders and guiding TDIC through growth and evolution that reinforces our standing among the best insurance companies.”
