As the world population ages, the importance of saving tooth structure is becoming more apparent. Replacements for lost teeth often have to function for decades, making endodontics a growing field of dentistry.
The latest collection of the Journal of the California Dental Association explores endodontics and current trends in endodontic therapy, including the use of computer technology for treatment planning.
“The discipline of endodontics aims to preserve teeth in all stages of life,” said Kerry K. Carney, DDS, editor-in-chief. “This journal collection explains the important role endodontics plays in maintaining pulp vitality and conserving tooth structure for all patients.”
Articles featured in the collection include:
- An Update on Vital Pulp Therapy
- Aging and Endodontics: A Narrative Review to Guide Case Selection and Treatment
- Guided Endodontics, Static Guides Development, Design, and Clinical Applications
- Root Submergence by Decoronation and Root-End Resection of a Maxillary Incisor with Concrescence: A Case Report
