Is It Possible? Predictability, Limitations, and Heroics in Tooth Preservation

This presentation will explore the complex decision-making process behind saving teeth from an endodontic perspective. Through real-world cases and input from current literature, we will examine when preservation is predictable, when it is not, and when extraordinary measures we’ve taken have succeeded – or failed.

Course objectives:

• Review clinical and radiographic tools that are helpful in diagnosis, treatment planning, and determining prognosis.
• Recognize situations where treatment outcomes are less reliable and extraction may be the better choice.
• Discuss our “heroic” attempts with what has worked, what hasn’t, and the lessons we have learned from pushing the limits of biology and technique.
