SUMMARY:Dental STEM Visa Town Hall
DESCRIPTION:Paths to practicing dentistry in the U.S. are complex. Let’s talk about it. \n\n\n\nCDA has long advocated for equity and access in healthcare—including dentists’ education and growth opportunities. We want to better understand dental students’ experiences with visas and the realities they face in school\, post-graduate residencies and their careers. Personal stories and exploration of the resource gaps can help shine a light on how new paths\, such as extended OPT under STEM\, could help others and what CDA’s role may be.  While there are other visa paths for international dental students and residents\, open dialogues can increase understanding of the difference additional OPT time can make. \n\n\n\nOur upcoming town hall will present an overview of H-1B fees and green card policy in the current federal landscape\, past policy on STEM visa expansion and planned advocacy efforts. Panelists will explore: \n\n\n\n\nPersonal visa stories\n\n\n\nHelpful and needed resources\n\n\n\nAdvocacy opportunities\n\n\n\nThe impact of extended STEM OPT

SUMMARY:Surcharging in Dental Practices | The Pros\, Cons\, and Regulations
DESCRIPTION:One of our most well-attended webinars last year\, this session returns in 2026 to help practices navigate the growing complexity of surcharging.Surcharging\, passing credit card processing fees on to patients\, has become increasingly common in dental practices. Often promoted as “free credit card processing\,” this approach can reduce overhead\, but it also comes with important considerations around patient experience\, compliance\, and long-term practice growth. In this webinar\, we’ll take a clear\, practical look at how surcharging works\, why it’s gained popularity\, and what dental practices should understand before implementing it. With higher average transaction amounts in dentistry\, even small fees can feel significant to patients—making perception and communication just as important as compliance.
