SUMMARY:Advancing Veteran Oral Health for California
DESCRIPTION:CDA and American Institute of Dental Public Health (AIDPH) are working together to advance veteran oral health in California during a Virtual Road Tour\, a state-based series featuring tools\, resources\, data\, and advocacy frameworks for improving access and outcome for veterans. This virtual road tour “stop” includes a one-hour session designed to empower state-based stakeholders to identify gaps and potential solutions for California veterans and their oral health. The interactive session will feature an overview of California veteran oral health state profile\, along with state and national efforts underway to improve the oral health of veterans.  \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives: \n\n\n\n\nAnalyze state-specific veteran oral health data to identify key disparities and challenges\, using critical thinking skills to inform advocacy efforts.\n\n\n\nEvaluate existing policies and advocate for reforms to bridge gaps in veteran oral healthcare access\, employing a strategic approach to policy change.\n\n\n\nCollaborate with local stakeholders to develop data-driven oral health advocacy plans\, fostering teamwork and coalition-building.\n\n\n\nFormulate evidence-based strategies for utilizing the knowledge gained in the session to advance veteran oral health in your state\, demonstrating the application of acquired knowledge in real-world scenarios.
