TDSC extends dental supply savings to associations in Western states

The Dentists Supply Company has announced plans to roll out access to its shopping site, tdsc.com, to tripartite members in nine Western states. The rollout is the first phase of TDSC’s nationwide expansion, which will allow members of organized dentistry to benefit from 20 percent average savings on a broad online catalog of supplies from authorized vendors, plus free shipping.

“Our colleagues in other states are eager to save money on dental supplies through a trusted source that has the interests of dentists and patients at heart,” said Walt Weber, DDS, chair of the TDSC Board of Directors. “TDSC has delivered significant savings to dentists in California and we’re thrilled to be expanding our reach to help more dentists practice on their own terms.”

Dentists nationwide continue to feel the pressure of growing competition and the rising costs of running their practices. TDSC was founded to help member dentists respond to the ever-evolving dental marketplace by reducing overhead and gaining control.

Since launching in 2017, CDA members have already saved more than $2 million on dental supplies through tdsc.com. TDSC’s remarkable growth has caught the attention of the supply industry, press and dental associations nationwide. Now, the company is expanding its reach to deliver the same level of savings to association members in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico.

While tdsc.com savings vary on a product-by-product basis, each product’s price has been negotiated with the strength of membership’s buying power. More shoppers from nine Western states will help secure even more savings for CDA members who shop the site.

Additionally, TDSC has created a strategic alliance with Association Gloves & Supplies, an affiliate of the Michigan Dental Association, to expand product offerings and reach, which will provide dentists participating in organized dentistry with increased savings on dental supplies. Combined, TDSC and Association Gloves & Supplies will offer more than 40,000 supplies through tdsc.com.

“TDSC was an idea that had huge potential to really impact members in a very meaningful way,” said Natasha Lee, DDS, CDA president. “For a member to say, ‘It saved me twenty percent on my products,’ that’s a real tangible benefit. So far, I’ve saved the amount of my CDA membership dues many, many times over.”

This practice-changing level of savings has garnered wholehearted appreciation from shoppers and been essential to the site’s early and ongoing success. CDA members’ enthusiasm for tdsc.com has been a great catalyst for TDSC to work on bringing the benefits to state associations throughout the country in the coming year.

Through The Dentists Supply Company, a CDA subsidiary, shoppers continue to see an average savings of more than 20 percent compared to manufacturers’ suggested retail prices. While that level of supply savings has attracted many CDA members to tdsc.com, it’s how the difference is stacking up over time that’s really impressive. Members have already saved more than $2 million dollars on dental supplies through the site, and they’re on track to save a half million more by the end of the year.

When considering a purchase, dentists rated “quality” as the most important attribute of dental suppliers. In fact, this attribute was rated the leading factor by 64 percent of dentists in 2017. By 2018, quality was still at 53 percent, but price had grown from 19 percent to 22 percent. The good news is that practices don’t have to sacrifice the supplies they love or the brands they trust to control costs.
