Open enrollment: TDIC Insurance Solutions offers health options

CDA members may know about the dentist-focused coverage offered for their practices by The Dentists Insurance Company, but they may not be aware that TDIC Insurance Solutions offers individual and family plans, small-group plans and Medicare options from trusted carriers to provide affordable coverage. Open enrollment for each of these health plans is either already open or quickly approaching.

Here are the open-enrollment periods and deadlines for each.

Individual and family plans – Oct. 15-Dec. 15, 2018, for a Jan. 1, 2019, effective date.

Individual and family plans are designed to cover you and your family. HMO, PPO and HSA- compatible plans are available, including prescription drug coverage and term life, vision and maternity options. Available carriers include Anthem, Blue Shield, Kaiser, Sutter Health, Health Net, Oscar, Sharp and Western Health Advantage.

Small-group plans – Nov. 15-Dec. 15, 2018, for a Jan. 1, 2019, effective date.

Small-group plans are designed to cover you and your employees, from an office of two people to 49. Available carriers include Aetna, Anthem, Blue Shield, California Choice, Health Net, Kaiser, Oscar (select cities), Sharp, Sutter Health and United Health Care.

Medicare – Oct. 15-Dec. 7, 2018, for a Jan. 1, 2019, effective date.

If you are now eligible for Medicare or will be converting to Medicare soon, you can benefit from our supplemental policy, which works as health insurance to fill any gaps left by Medicare Parts A and B.

If you already have supplemental coverage, know that new Medicare health plans and Part D prescription drug coverage choices are available each year.
