Helpful tips for a great CDA Presents experience

CDA Presents The Art and Science of Dentistry is coming up Aug. 24-26 in San Francisco. With more than 400 exhibitors and 150-plus C.E. courses and hands-on workshops, the convention offers a lot to see and experience. CDA provides the tools for attendees to use to successfully get around, maximize their time and make the most of their CDA Presents experience. Here are some tips to help make that happen:

Registration

  • Attendees can register through Aug. 26 at cdapresents.com. Badges and registration materials can be picked up on-site at the eBadge Exchange counter in Moscone West using the barcode in the confirmation email via a mobile device or a printed copy.
  • Those attending morning courses should plan to pick up badges before 7:30 a.m. (Regardless of arrival time, CDA’s goal is to issue badges as quickly as possible.)
  • Registration is also available on-site and badges can be picked up at the eBadge Exchange. The on-site registration and badge pick-up hours are:
    Wednesday, Aug. 23: 3–5 p.m.
    Thursday, Aug. 24: 6 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
    Friday, Aug. 25: 6 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
    Saturday, Aug. 26: 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

C.E. credit

  • Attendees should arrive 15 minutes early for all courses, as most courses will reach capacity.
  • Scanning in and out of each course and attending all courses in full is required. CDA cannot issue C.E. credits for late arrivals to courses and cannot issue partial credits for partial course attendance (courses cannot overlap in time).
  • To receive credit for free C.E. lectures at The Spot, attendees must scan in at the beginning of the lecture. Codes are not given at the end of The Spot lectures.
  • Available course handouts can be downloaded right from the CDA mobile app or online at cdapresents.com/sf2017 through Sept. 11. Handouts and course notes can be protected by using the in-app email feature, which prevents loss of data if devices run low on storage space.
  • C.E. scans can be verified through the CDA app, on cdapresents.com or at the on-site C.E. Pavilion.
  • Three weeks after the meeting, emails will be sent that will provide directions for retrieving C.E. certificates online.

Courses and workshops

  • Room assignments for all courses can be found via the CDA mobile app, the printed on-site program and on the schedule at cdapresents.com/sf2017.
  • For the best possible experience, attendees should avoid scheduling back-to-back courses.

Updates and transportation

  • Moscone West is located in the heart of San Francisco's downtown district at Fourth and Howard streets with a second entrance on Fourth Street between Howard and Mission streets.
  • The convention center is easily accessible by transit, and shuttles will be provided from hotels that are not within walking distance.

CDA app

  • The easy-to-use CDA app offers access to CDA Presents program schedules and speaker information, exhibitor and product listings, interactive maps, real-time alerts such as course availability, an integrated social media hub and information on local hotels, restaurants and attractions.
  • Compatible with any smartphone operating on the iOS or Android platforms, the app is also compatible with tablets that operate on those platforms, including the iPad.
  • The app features a comprehensive and intuitive interface that makes navigation seamless. Conveniently, all phone numbers are click-to-call and email addresses and websites are click-to-connect.
  • The CDA app is available for download from the iTunes and Google Play app stores or by visiting cda.org/apps. A mobile web version of the app for those who use platforms other than iOS or Android is available at cdapresents.com/mobileapp.
  • Attendees should also check out the CDA Presents Social Hub, which features all of the social activity from the convention. Be sure to use the #cdaSF hashtag when posting convention-related photos and tweets.
