Get the word on dental sealants in May 22 webinar

Dentists can learn about the scientific evidence that supports the use, safety and benefits of sealants and review the ADA clinical practice guideline for the use of pit and fissure sealants at an upcoming webinar. Hosted by the ADA Council on Advocacy for Access and Prevention, the one-hour webinar will:

  • Provide tips on engaging in conversation with a parent or caretaker about the benefits and safety of dental sealants.
  • Present information about patient education materials that providers can share with patients about sealants.
  • Discuss the success of a state sealant program and practitioner opportunities to participate in state or local sealant programs.

Senate Bill 379 (Atkins, San Diego), co-sponsored by CDA, would amend the law to improve both the quantity and quality of the oral health data collected. The statutory updates in the bill will also facilitate the efficient collection of the data by ensuring it is reported to one entity — the Office of Oral Health within the Department of Public Health.
