For your holiday reading: September CDA Journal

The September Journal of the California Dental Association provides four clinically relevant articles that highlight selected systemic diseases with oral signs and/or symptoms that oral health care providers may encounter throughout a dental career.

Articles include a discussion of common oral manifestations of three systemic diseases — anemia, diabetes mellitus and HIV — that oral health care providers will likely encounter throughout their clinical practice careers; a review that describes the clinical features, epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis and management for mucocutaneous diseases, including oral lichen planus, mucous membrane pemphigoid and pemphigus vulgaris; a review of four less common oral diseases of medical significance; and a description of acromegaly and the dental implications for patients who have it.

The Journal of the California Dental Association is an award-winning peer-reviewed scientific publication that keeps dentists up-to-date about scientific advances, business management strategies and new products.
