CDA Presents attendees get complete experience

CDA Presents The Art and Science of Dentistry provided attendees with valuable information, entertainment and exciting new products last week in Anaheim.

More than 28,000 people attended the April 11-13 event at the Anaheim Convention Center. The show featured more than 175 lectures and workshops and an exhibit hall packed with more than 570 companies that spotlighted several innovative products.

“We had great attendance at CDA Presents in Anaheim because our meetings are a complete experience,” said CDA Presents Board of Managers Chair Del Brunner, DDS. “We gave dentists the opportunity to view all the latest dental technology. There were more than 100 new product launches that took place; not to mention the high quality of the lectures and the hands-on courses.”

The International Symposia, for example, featured Takashi Watanabe, DDS, and Kiyokazu Minami, DDS, of Japan. Lecturing on restorative dentistry in Japan, Minami and Watanabe offered attendees information on an alternative philosophy and treatment modalities; different cultural nuances in the delivering of dentistry; and the fostering of international camaraderie and relationships in an international setting.

“It was an honor having Drs. Wanatabe and Minami speak at CDA Presents, they brought a tremendous amount of knowledge and professionalism to the show,” Brunner said. “I think having an international perspective of restorative dentistry was intriguing to our attendees.”

Other workshops ranged in topics from national health care reform to nontraditional composite restorations to how to boost staff performance in a practice, thus giving dentists a distinct experience while providing the opportunity to earn CE credits.

Also at CDA Presents in Anaheim, dental professionals were given the opportunity to relax at The Spot — a lounge for learning and networking that included educational lectures, an Internet café and a wine tasting event. On top of this, CDA held a “Party in the Plaza” at the Anaheim Grand Plaza where attendees enjoyed food and live music.
