DESCRIPTION:Surgical procedures in dentistry are becoming much more commonplace\, where all dentists must be well-versed in basic and advanced suturing techniques. Whether performing a simple interrupted suture after draining a tooth abscess\, or releasing the periosteum to close a large incision after alveolar ridge augmentation\, many of the principles of tissue handling\, instrumentation\, and possible complications are the same. This course will review medical and local factors that can affect wound healing and review principles of suturing. Specific hands-on workshops will also be included to learn flap design\, basic and advanced suturing techniques\, focusing on tension-free closure\, and choosing appropriate suture materials. Dr. Snyder is the 77th Accredited Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry\, the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics\, the American Society for Dental Aesthetics and a Diplomat of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr. Snyder has been on the faculty at U.C.L.A. where he helped create and co-direct the first (in the world) two-year graduate program in Aesthetic and Cosmetic Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Snyder lectures both nationally and internationally on numerous aspects of dental materials\, techniques\, equipment\, marketing\, technology & business. He is a consultant for numerous dental manufacturing companies. Dr. Snyder has been published and featured in many books and dental journals worldwide. Dr. Snyder has a live\, online and virtual dental education program known as www.Legion.Dentist. Dr. Snyder is also a professional race car driver and entrepreneur. He practices Cosmetic and Restorative dentistry in Laguna Niguel\, CA and Las Vegas\, NV.
