‘Simply treating a tooth is inadequate’ – Recipient of Student Loan Repayment Grant has visionary long-term goal

The CDA Foundation awarded Dr. Stone just over $103,000 in student loan repayment in exchange for her commitment to maintain an overall patient caseload of at least 30% Medi-Cal patients for at least two years in either a Dental Health Professional Shortage Area or an underserved worksite.

Each month, CDA spotlights a student from one of California’s seven dental schools. CDA’s April Student Spotlight, Venus Oliva from Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry highlights her responsibility as the 2025 class president to bridge the gap between students and professors.

California dental students, recent dental school grads and dental professionals can apply for Foundation grant up to $5K

Recent graduates of a California dental school or board-approved dental assisting or dental hygiene educational program who meet eligibility requirements can apply for up to $5,000 through the CDA Foundation’s Webb Family Grant to support their education or training expenses.

CDA-hosted meetups for dentists pair career-building support and guidance with food and upbeat activities

CDA will host two in-person gatherings in San Diego and Ontario in late March that are especially geared toward early-career dentists who want to define or refine their career goals, but dentists in any stage of practice with an eye on the future are invited to attend.
