July Student Spotlight

July 19, 2019 2315

Get to know CDA’s July Student Spotlight, Gregory Pavlos from UCSF School of Dentistry class of 2022.

What’s your favorite guilty-pleasure movie or TV series?
I’m a “Game of Thrones” fanatic, so don’t talk during episodes. Yes, I’m talking to you Gabriella Galvez!

What has been the most surprising thing about dental school?
Above all, I have been pleasantly surprised by how cohesive my class is. Going through the same struggles in school has really proven to be the best recipe for friendship.

What are you most looking forward to after dental school?
I can’t wait to start a family with my beautiful girlfriend, Julie.

Has a current dental school professor made a positive impact on you? What would you like to say to them?
Like many of my peers, I look up to Dr. Robert Ho. He educates with patience, integrity, and good vibes. I would be thankful to become half the dentist this man is.

What has been the most rewarding thing about working on patients?
I have always been good with people, and the patients I work with have expressed that they genuinely enjoy the interactions we have. This will always be the most rewarding part of dentistry for me.

How do you relax after a long day at school?
I take my two dogs on a long walk through Golden Gate Park. They calm me down and give me unconditional love.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
I would read a new book every night.

Why are you #cdaproud?
Even as a student, I have experienced the perpetual support of the California Dental Association. I am thankful to be involved with an organization that advocates for my patients and the dental community with integrity. For this, I will always remain #cdaproud!
