Resources on vaccine tracking, patient screening available in new reopening guide for dentists

Much of the California economy is now open, but while COVID-19 safety restrictions have been lifted for fully vaccinated individuals in most indoor places, dental practices in California must continue to comply with guidance and regulations related to health care settings. Both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Public Health require face coverings and social distancing in health care settings.

CDA Practice Support has developed the California State Reopening Guide for Dental Practices to help dentists and dental teams understand their responsibilities to maintain a safe environment and communicate with patients about continued COVID-19 safety precautions in the dental office.

The guide features new and revised resources that reflect the most recent guidance from the CDC, CDPH and Cal/OSHA for fully vaccinated patients and dental team members.

The guide includes:

  • A summary of mask, social distancing and screening requirements.
  • Updated patient screening, employee vaccine verification and vaccine tracking forms.
  • Revised guidance on how to pay employees for a COVID-19-related absence.
  • Patient communication templates about face coverings in the dental office.
  • An updated COVID-19 prevention plan and much more.

CDA will update the guide as new information becomes available.

Access all the new and updated resources in the California State Reopening Guide for Dental Practices.
