All California employers will begin paying minimum wage of at least $15.50 in January 2023

California’s minimum wage will rise again in January 2023 – to $15.50 for employers of every size as a result of inflation. But more than 30 California cities and counties have their own local ordinances that set the minimum wage even higher. In some cities, the minimum wage will increase this July.

Student representatives from six California dental schools met earlier this year with state legislators to discuss critical issues affecting dentistry and oral health as part of  Grassroots Advocacy Days. The students highlighted solutions through state budget funding and CDA-sponsored legislation.

CDA's Smile Crew CA dental assistant training programs expand to additional areas around state

CDA’s pilot dental assisting training programs continue to be successful ― placing most of their participants in open dental positions in California. Now, the training programs, which teach participants the basic skills for a dental assisting career, are coming to two additional regions in the state.
