2022 COVID-19 Supplemental COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave

New! Effective September 30, 2022, COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave (SPSL) has been extended through the end of 2022 and now provides relief to small businesses incurring the costs of such leave through California Small Business and Nonprofit COVID-19 Relief Grant Program within the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz).

Senate Bill 114 ("SB 114") requires that covered employers of 26 or more employees expand supplemental paid sick leave for employees' COVID-19-related absences until September 30, 2022.

Certification of Health Care Provider - Employees or Family Members Serious Health Condition

Use this CRD form to request certification from a health care provider for CFRA leaves due to the employee’s own serious health condition or that of a family member.

This for may be used for CFRA and non-CFRA medical leaves of absence or other requested accommodations due to a qualifying disability or serious heath condition.

Individual cities and counties across California have passed local ordinances relating to minimum wage and sick leave laws — with eligibility rules varying from city to city. Check with local city government as to whether any local minimum wage ordinances may apply to employees in your practice. Periodically check local websites as rates in these cities could change at any time.
