Sacramento, Calif. – The May 2022 issue of the Journal of the California Dental Association provides a “sugar toolkit” with simple visuals and messages dental providers can use to talk with patients about reducing and eliminating sugar-sweetened beverage consumption to reduce dental decay and other associated chronic diseases.

“The inclusion of the sugar toolkit in this month’s Journal is part of CDA’s ongoing collaboration with the California State Office of Oral Health and the California Department of Public Health to help reduce sugar intake across the state,” said Kerry K. Carney, DDS, editor-in-chief of the Journal.

Other articles in the May issue include:

  • “Allergic Manifestations in the Oral Cavity” by Usha Dayanarayana, MDS; Shilpa Padar Shastry, MDS; Chetan Shankar, MDS; Naveen Kumar N, MDS; Rama Murthy TK, MDS; and Mahesh BS, MDS.
