Patients with some form of dental coverage or benefit to offset their out-of-pocket cost are more likely to accept a treatment plan. Offering an in-house discount plan can assist with attracting new patients and help retain existing patients, particularly those patients without any form of dental coverage.

An initiative that would substantially raise health care costs for all Californians, reduce access to health care and harm patients most in need has qualified for the 2022 ballot.

Sen. Richard Pan, who is also a practicing pediatrician, introduced Senate Bill 483 in response to the escalating personal threats made against public health officers throughout the state.

For recent grad Peter Kim, DDS, having to finish this journey virtually was a disappointment, but he believes the changes may be beneficial in the future.

This week marks a milestone anniversary for the California Dental Association, commemorating 150 years of community and resilience driven by a mission to provide steadfast support for dentists in their practice.  

Beginning July 1, providers and employees of providers are prohibited from establishing on behalf of a consumer an open-end credit or loan application that contains a deferred-interest provision. Consumers who wish to access these products will need to apply directly with the credit company.
