TDIC offers a new seminar, online and in person, to help dentists improve communication and documentation skills to reduce the potential for complaints, claims, or lawsuits.

Updated Sept. 1, 2022: California-licensed dentists can now apply for the new general anesthesia/deep sedation, moderate sedation and pediatric minimal sedation permits through the dental board's online licensing system BreEZe. 

Dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants and dental and hygiene students in California may be eligible for financial assistance via loan repayment or a scholarship through the Department of Health Care Access and Information. 

Two significant updates on COVID-19 quarantining and at-home testing have occurred in the last week with potential impact on dental practices and staff.  

The CDC has urged health care providers to be alert for patients who have rash illnesses consistent with monkeypox regardless of specific risk factors. Dentists are well-positioned to help detect the virus during patient examinations.

Starting Oct. 31, dental providers must electronically submit Medi-Cal enrollment applications and required documentation through the online portal PAVE. Dentists can attend upcoming webinars to learn how to use the portal.
