Individuals must register for the training by May 23. The cost is $239 for California Dental Hygienist Association members and $299 for non-CDHA members.

The California Pharmacists Association is hosting the training session, which meets the requirements of the Department of Consumer Affairs’ emergency waiver allowing dental hygienists in California to administer the COVID-19 vaccine under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist, physician or other authorized provider.

The training includes three components that attendees must complete to receive their certificate of completion:

  • Two hours of online self-study that must be completed three days before the live session.
  • The live 3 ½-hour training session on Zoom.
  • An in-person technique assessment to be scheduled after the live session.

Interested dental hygienists are encouraged to register early to give themselves time to complete the self-study portion of the training. Details about the technique assessment are available on the registration page.

Registrants who complete all three components and successfully pass their injection technique assessment will receive next steps to take the post-exam and print their certificate of achievement.

Register for the training now through the CPhA website.
