CDA has been notified by other state dental associations of an email scam that is targeting their members. The email has the subject line “Terry Recovery,” includes an association logo, and appears to be coming from the association’s email domain. This email is a scam and should be deleted immediately. CDA is bringing an enhanced learning experience to dentists and dental teams through a new education program launching this month. Through the online program, registrants will be able to log in to their CDA membership account and access interactive courses and virtual events all in one place, including all CDA and TDIC Risk Management courses.
Dentists registered with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration should be aware that the DEA is no longer sending renewal notices by U.S. Postal Service as of last June. Instead, registrants will receive several renewal notifications by email.
“There are people in my community who will tell you that the Well-Being Program is probably the most important benefit they’ve received as a CDA member,” said Matthew Korn, DDS, chair of the CDA Well-Being Committee. The program assists dental community members who suffer from alcohol or chemical dependency or both.
The Department of Consumer Affairs on March 30 issued two waivers that expand COVID-19 vaccinator eligibility to include California-licensed dentists and other health care providers with recently expired, inactive or lapsed licenses and health care students, including dental students.
Delta Dental of California’s proposed reductions to the “maximum allowable fees” for approximately 2,200 endodontists, periodontists and oral surgeons in California will not take effect July 1, as previously scheduled. Instead, Delta Dental has decided to indefinitely postpone the previously announced fee reductions.
