State Public Health Order Info
See how the July 26 vaccination order impacts dental practices.
An all-member webinar CDA hosted Aug. 12 explained how the state of California's COVID-19 vaccine and testing mandates apply to dental offices and dental staff.
Dentists who missed the webinar can now watch the recording, which includes a transcript. The webinar was scheduled for an hour but Drs. Judee Tippett-Whyte and Ariane Terlet, Ali Oromchian, JD, and CDA’s Public Policy Director Mary McCune finished their presentation in just over 30 minutes.
The presenters answered the top questions CDA Practice Support is hearing from members, especially related to the order’s weekly testing mandate for employees and how dental offices will implement that mandate's requirements by the Aug. 23 compliance deadline.
Because some areas of the state order lack clarity, the presenters also discussed CDA’s advocacy for the Newsom administration and the California Department of Public Health to provide clear guidance on how testing will be paid for, including employees' time for testing.
CDA has updated its FAQ about the state order to include answers to questions submitted by CDA members during the webinar, such as:
CDA will continue to revise the FAQ, first published Aug. 10, to include the newest information.
Dentists in San Francisco and Los Angeles counties must also comply soon with local public health orders issued last week. CDA will keep members informed about state and local mandates through the newsroom and weekly newsletter and share new CDA resources to assist compliance.
