CDA Cares

We’re connecting Californians in need to essential oral health care through volunteer-led clinics.

Volunteer-powered Dental Care Events

The CDA Foundation hosts CDA Cares, a program that allows volunteer dentists, with the assistance of other dental and health professionals and community volunteers, to provide dental services at no charge to individuals throughout the state. As part of the Foundation’s mission to improve the oral health of all Californians, this program provides essential treatment and helps connect patients to permanent dental homes.

Interested in volunteering?

Even after a long day of providing oral health services, volunteer dentists are usually smiling from ear to ear. See for yourself how Foundation events transform lives by bringing life-changing dental treatment to people who experience barriers to care.

Review clinic FAQ

CDA Cares is a one-day dental clinic that provides no-cost dental treatment to people who have difficulty accessing care, including uninsured, underinsured or unemployed adults and children of any age. Please note that appointments are required.

Cleanings, fillings, extractions and oral health education will be offered at this event.

The event will be held on Saturday, August 17, in Long Beach. Please note that appointments are required for this event, and details will be sent directly to registered patients.

Appointments are required in advance and there is limited availability. Contact foundation.info@cda.org to check availability. There may be opportunities for standby appointments. Spanish speakers: please have an interpreter available to help make your call or email request.

No. There are no qualifiers to receive care at CDA Cares; however, if it is determined through the clinic screening process that you are eligible to enroll in Medi-Cal, you will be provided with the resources to become a Medi-Cal beneficiary prior to receiving care.

Please have a list of all the medications you are currently taking, including the dosage. You will need to list all medications on your health history form.

No controlled substances are available at the clinic. Antibiotics and over-the-counter pain relievers will be available for those in need.

No. Please only bring your children to CDA Cares if they are receiving treatment.

Patients will be linked with a local Medi-Cal dentist as their new “dental home” which will allow them to receive follow-up and routine care moving forward.

The CDA Foundation recognizes that dental services are not financially feasible for many Californians. The Foundation organized and raised funds for this event, and many volunteers are donating their time and expertise to provide dental services.

It would be wonderful to have you there! Contact Marissa Allen at 916.554.7349 to learn more.
