Description: Patient complaints are prompting federal agency investigations of dental practices for potential violations of HIPAA. Investigations confirmed complaints and showed that dental practices lacked required elements of HIPAA compliance. This course reviews the investigations and clarifies what dental practices must do to ensure compliance.

Mental Health and Wellness in Dentistry: A Peer-to-Peer Story

Description: Listen to an engaging first-hand story from a fellow dentist who has had struggles with stress, anxiety and burnout and who made it through those tough times. Join us as Dr. Brian Toorani tells his personal story recounting some dark days in his past. Hear the insightful tips Dr. Toorani offers about how you can monitor your own mental health and even help your staff and family members. Dr. Toorani offers an honest, sensible approach to caring for our mental health and wellness.

  • Understand that all busy humans are susceptible to mental health issues and that they can be overcome.  
  • Learn some basic tips for monitoring your own mental health and for keeping stress, anxiety and burnout at bay.

CDA is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.

CDA designates each activity for a specified number of C.E. units. These courses meet the Dental Board of California requirements for continuing education units.
