Job Purpose  

In collaboration with key stakeholders, develops and executes the marketing strategies and plans for the California Dental Association member benefit programs, Practice Support and Endorsed Programs. This includes the development of the marketing, channel and promotional plans, budget preparation, campaign analysis, and the day-to-day coordination of plan implementation. This position acts as a subject matter expert for program communications and marketing best practices and initiates development of all market deliverables.

This temporary position is expected to start February, 2021 and may run through approximately six months, depending on department needs.

Essential Functions – must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

  • Serves as a key strategic partner for Practice Support and Endorsed Programs business leads. Leverage market/member research to develop, manage and execute marketing plans based on strategic program objectives that deliver against program goals, driving engagement with and utilization of the member benefits.   
  • Creates, updates and manages detailed strategy and planning documents to ensure projects are delivered on-time, on-budget and within the scope of work. 
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with design, content and digital teams to concept and execute integrated marketing campaigns for the subject matter expertise offered through CDA Practice Support: dental benefit plans, employment practices, practice management and regulatory compliance. 
  • Develop segmented product positioning and messaging strategies that are cohesive, have inspiring narratives and clearly articulate our value proposition. Ensures content and visual key messaging is consistent with brand standards. 
  • Collaborate with the subject matter experts to author and package strong promotional content for the CDA Practice Support and Endorsed programs. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop plans to drive execution for new feature and/or partner launches based on audience insights and segmentation, bridging brand, product and education marketing. 
  • Serve as strategic lead for how Practice Support and Endorsed Programs benefits are positioned online. Includes partnering with channel owners to ensure on-going optimizations that drive engagement and utilization across core digital products (like the online resource library).  
  • Market new practice support product add-on service in a fee-based model and a reinvented endorsed programs suite of offerings. 
  • Partner with content strategy team and business stakeholders to evolve thinking on gated/member-only content. 
  • Work with internal creative team and external creative partners to manage creative resourcing and development and keep projects on track. 
  • Manage all aspects of executing campaigns across multiple channels in partnership with our creative team and channel owners. 
  • Apply strategic rigor to briefing process and evangelize the brand in supporting tactics and work that aligns with brand strategy. 
  • Excel at project management to ensure projects move forward on time and with minimal friction from all stages from pre to post launch. 
  • Build strong relationships with marketing leaders and product category stakeholders. 
  • Drive clarity and alignment with stakeholders to make timely decisions with team members on responsibilities and priorities. 
  • Monitor and track the developments and changes in the association environment; analyze surveys, market studies, and competition. 
  • Track and manage channel performance using key marketing performance indicators, analyzes data and optimizes campaign activity.

Required Education, Licenses & Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a marketing, advertising agency environment, in house creative, product marketing team, or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.  
  • Experience planning and executing multi-channel advertising campaigns and marketing programs. 
  • Ability to identify and translate goals and objectives into strategies, plans and tactics. 
  • Strong project, analytical, and time management skills. 
  • Project management and facilitation experience desired.  
  • Background working with traditional and digital media. 
  • Experience operating within complex organizations with many stakeholders. 
  • Strong attention to detail with the capability to work on multiple campaigns/priorities simultaneously. 
  • Ability to problem solve with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and team-oriented environment. 
  • Understanding of KPIs and campaign performance metrics across marketing channel. 
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 
  • Exercise a high degree of initiative, independence and flexibility. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a variety of projects simultaneously, and balance priorities within varied timelines. 
  • Requires time management skills with demonstrated ability to problem-solve and multi-task. 
  • Demonstrated experience and confidence in presenting campaigns or program plans to all levels. 
  • Experience building and managing client-vendor relationships. 
  • Proven track record working with various cross-functional, internal and external groups to deliver meaningful results on time and on budget. 
  • Experience with business writing and copy-editing using AP Style Guide. 
  • Strong writing skills and ability to translate program subject matter into marketing promotional content. 
  • A solid understanding and demonstrated experience with marketing concepts and brand principles. 
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting market data. 
  • Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required. 
  • Must demonstrate diplomacy and tact while interacting with all levels within and outside of the organization.   
  • Requires computer and software skills, including the ability to operate Windows/ Microsoft Office with knowledge of web-based applications, CMS, and project management tools. 

Preferred Education, Licenses & Experience 

  • Experience with non-profit associations and/or charitable organizations is preferred.  
  • General knowledge association profession terminology preferred.
