The Inside Sales agent supports our CDA members and TDIC policyholders by assessing insurance needs and making recommendations for products, bundles and coverages. The majority of communication is via phone and email, except in person presentations during organizational events. This position is expected to meet and exceed monthly goals in order to earn individual and team bonuses. Our agents are regarded as having high levels of product knowledge and delivering valuable expertise and recommendations.

Essential Functions – must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • Sell all product lines with a primary focus on Core Products – TDIC Optimum Bundle, Business Overhead Expense and Disability Insurance
  • Become a product expert for all coverage lines for P&C and L&H
  • Cross Sell all appropriate product lines including referrals to Health Care Team
  • Develop business coming into Call Center and through outbound calling of warm leads
  • Assist members in the completion, and submission of applications.
  • Effectively work with interdependent departments, and outside carriers to efficiently process application submissions.
  • Achieve ongoing benchmarks for:
    • Sales Pipeline development
    • New Business Submission goals for all lines of business
    • Controllable Pend Ratios
    • Revenue goals
  • Accurately track all prospect management through CRM database system
  • Provide a high level of service to CDA members and TDIC clients
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and service staff, as needed
  • Create and sustain long term working relationships with valued CDA members, and TDIC Clients.
  • Conduct consistent follow up with prospective clients both on the phone and via email.
  • Interact with Member’s, Client’s, and prospective clients at industry tradeshows, and occasional networking events.
  • Participate in pre-arranged marketing campaigns, and tracking activities as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions

Required Education, Licenses & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active P&C and Life & Health agent licenses or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in direct sales in the insurance field
  • Communication skills: inspiring others and inciting action to achieve organizational goals and desired outcomes; demonstrating expertise and earning respect.
  • Relationship skills: focusing on meeting needs and exceeding expectations for those served inside and outside the organization.
  • Adaptation skills: appropriately adapting behavior to changing conditions; modifying approach to succeed with new situations and timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess needs, present recommendations for coverages and products, and effective at closing.
  • Ability to manage a large volume of inbound and outbound calls, track and document follow up communication, and deliver premier customer service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance policies and coverages for disability insurance, in order to assess needs and make recommendations on coverage.
  • Ability to operate independently, exercising good judgement and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Positive attitude, motivated and a passion for helping people.

Preferred Education, Licenses & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field recommended or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Life and Health insurance policies and coverages, in order to assess needs and make recommendations on coverage.
