The Sr. Financial Analyst acts as a liaison to the California Dental Association (CDA) Finance Department by interfacing with all levels of management to facilitate the annual budget process, perform operational analyses, provide key financial metrics, conduct benchmark analyses, forecast operating results, and support critical business strategic and operating decisions.

Essential Functions – must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • Partner with managers and leaders to build and maintain annual budgets for TDSC.
  • Support financial models to perform scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and other tools to support strategic decision-making across the organization.
  • Analyze current business trends and present business opportunities/improvements that positively impact financial results.
  • Develop and maintain labor resource planning and reporting tools.
  • Actively pursue and advise regarding potential improvements to the business intelligence and budget module methodologies.
  • Analyze financial management reports; investigate and explain unusual variances; identify, research, monitor and report operational trends that impact business performance.
  • Review, analyze, prepare and report recommendations regarding the financial impact of equipment purchases, business opportunities, compensation plans, capital expenditures, logistics industry regulations and other identified areas.
  • Perform the monthly accounting close process. Prepare monthly financial statements and all applicable operational analysis.
  • Assists with special projects as needed.
  • Work independently and as a team member.

Required Education, Licenses & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), preferably in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of four years related experience or equivalent. 
  • Excels at forward-facing interactions and developing key relationships across all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences across the organization.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel (including arrays, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP accounting policies and procedures (Logistics industry knowledge a plus).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow with minimal supervision.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

  • MBA or CPA desirable.
  • Public Accounting experience.
  • SAP S/4HANA experience.
  • Lawson experience.
  • Crystal report development and SQL skills a plus
