The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including design/engineering, implementation / integration, technical services and escalated third level support. The Senior Systems Engineer continually seeks to improve the health of the systems & network keeping them running at peak performance by working collaboratively with second level and vendor support.

Essential Functions- must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • Responsible for design, implementation and third level support for all network systems for all locations including on-premise and cloud hosted (hybrid cloud).
  • In-depth experience must include key systems such as SAN, Virtualization (VMware), remote access (VPN and Citrix, O365, Active Directory etc.
  • Responsible for Disaster recovery planning.
  • Works collaboratively with team members and second level support to design, deploy and support network/voice infrastructure including cloud hosted IAAS/SAAS solutions and remote access solutions such as VPN, SDWAN or similar systems.
  • Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers systems infrastructure.
  • Ensures proper documentation is provided for all new and existing solutions for the support services teams
  • Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.
  • Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.
  • Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
  • May have sole responsibility for projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
  • Performs advanced maintenance of file servers and network devices including the restoration of hardware and software.
  • Anticipates and mitigates potential attacks through network or other connections to ensure the security of the systems.
  • Works with second level support and vendors to resolve network hardware and software issues.
  • Reviews progress and evaluates results.

Required Education, Licenses & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience OR high school diploma or GED plus 12 years of experience
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience designing, implementing, installing, maintaining, and administering infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience performing maintenance of file servers and network devices including the restoration of hardware and software.
  • Current or previous Cisco CCNA certification
  • Performs work with latitude.
  • Handles most complex issues.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise to debug.
