Denti-Cal rate cut takes effect as budget negotiations continue
As the new fiscal year began on July 1, a previously approved 10 percent Medi-Cal provider rate reduction took effect at least temporarily while the governor and legislative leaders continued to negotiate the 2008-09 state budget. The permanence of that rate reduction, along with the governor’s proposed elimination of Denti-Cal adult benefits, remained under discussion in early July, with the outcome uncertain.
