June 4 , 2009 -- Representatives of the California Dental Association, CDA Foundation, and California Statewide Fluoridation Advisory Council attended a hearing of the California Office of Environment Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) on May 29, which discussed the prioritization of 38 compounds, including fluoride and its salts, for review by the agency’s Carcinogen Identification Committee. May 20, 2009 -- The California Dental Association was deeply disappointed by the failure of yesterday’s ballot measures that would have provided a modest revenue stream to fund among other programs those designed to serve the oral health care needs of our most vulnerable citizens. Read more.
April 30, 2009 -- CDA is closely monitoring the swine flu outbreak to keep our members informed of the latest news and recommendations being issued by the CDC and other leading health organizations. We are also carefully monitoring the situation as we prepare for CDA Presents in Anaheim from May 14-17. At this time, the CDC is NOT recommending that people avoid travel in the U.S. If you are planning to travel, the following CDC recommendations will help you to reduce your risk of infection and stay healthy.
