State implements Denti-Cal cuts

CDA has learned that the Department of Health Care Services began the implementation of the 10 percent provider rate cut for Denti-Cal services on Dec. 15, despite a pending motion for an injunction that is scheduled for hearing this month. CDA and its coalition partners will seek a preliminary injunction to stop the state from making the cuts at a hearing that is scheduled for Jan. 30. Last month, a U.S. District Court judge granted a preliminary injunction for hospital distinct part nursing facilities and pharmacies in a similar suit. CDA will keep members updated on efforts to block the provider rate cuts. A notice was posted on the Medi-Cal website regarding provider payment reductions. A link to the notice is attached here.
