Primary Duties

To attend and/or assist in arranging interviews with candidates for state legislative office
To participate in fundraising events and/or assist in holding a fundraiser for a key member of the state legislature
To provide periodic updates to component presidents and/or legislative chairs as needed to provide information on key legislative races
To help identify candidates for local and state legislative office and/or provide information to CalDPAC Executive Committee about potential candidates and the political climate

Qualifications/Special Skills and Knowledge

Should have or be willing to develop bipartisan political relationships.
Should be able to represent and articulate CDA’s position on legislative and regulatory activities to CDA members and the public regardless of personal views.

Time Requirements

Up to four meetings a year, either in Sacramento or in the district.

Composition

The board is composed of one member for each of nine geographic regions, representing between 1300 and 2000 members. The nine regions are:

Region 1- Alameda, Berkeley, Contra Costa and Southern Alameda
Region 2 – Fresno-Madera, Kern, Tulare-Kings, Yosemite, Monterey, Santa Barbara-Ventura, Central Coast
Region 3 – Santa Clara, Mid-Peninsula, San Mateo
Region 4 – San Francisco, Marin, Redwood Empire, Napa-Solano, Northern California, Humboldt-Del Norte
Region 5 – Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Butte-Sierra
Region 6 – Los Angeles, Western Los Angeles, San Fernando
Region 7 – Orange, Harbor
Region 8 – Tri-County, San Gabriel
Region 9 – San Diego

Terms of Office

Board members shall serve two-year terms commencing on January 1 of each odd-numbered year and ending on December 31 of each even-numbered year, except for the chair, who serves a one year term. The election or appointment of board members by the respective body or person will be no later than 30 days prior to January 1 of odd-numbered years.
