Mother, son reunite; hearts swell at CDA Cares

Lives are changed at every CDA Cares clinic, and the Pomona event was no different as it provided another example of the impact that dental professionals and community volunteers are having throughout the state.

The CDA Foundation's two-day dental event on Nov. 21-22 in Pomona provided $1.66 million in charitable dental services to 1,861 people. The CDA Foundation and CDA host CDA Cares to provide dental services and oral health education at no charge to Californians who experience barriers to care such as Leonard, who said he is disabled and a military veteran but does not have access to his veteran’s benefits.

Leonard is from San Bernardino and had just reunited with his mother after ten years. Maria, visiting from Louisiana for Thanksgiving, saw CDA Cares on the news and decided Leonard and his wife should go there to receive much-needed dental care.
