Grant and award applications, nominations close March 31

The CDA Foundation reminds readers that applications for the Dental Materials & Supplies Grant and nominations for the Dr. Aurthur A. Dugoni Faculty Award will close Friday, March 31.

The Foundation offers financial support to dental professionals and community-based organizations that provide dental care to underserved communities. One of the ways the Foundation offers support is through its grants and scholarships, which are available throughout the year and have various deadlines and submission periods. Following are summaries of the Dental Materials & Supplies Grant and the Dr. Arthur A. Dugoni Faculty Award:

Dental Materials & Supplies Grant
Working in partnership with Henry Schein Cares, this grant supports nonprofit organizations with the donated dental supplies and materials needed to provide oral health services for underserved individuals in the community.
Application period: Jan. 1 – March 31

Dr. Arthur A. Dugoni Faculty Award 
This award acknowledges and supports eligible faculty affiliated with the state’s six dental schools for their exceptional leadership, innovation, collaboration, compassion, philanthropic spirit and integrity in dental education. The award was developed to support individuals who contribute to the scholarly and creative activities of California dental students. The CDA Foundation encourages individuals who meet the selection criteria to apply as this is a self-application program. 
Application period: Jan. 1 – March 31

Save the date: The 9th Annual Ken Sanford, DDS, Memorial Motorcycle/Bicycle Ride to benefit two CDA Foundation programs will take place April 27-30 in San Clemente. The rides may be the highlight of the event, but those who don’t ride are encouraged to attend to access world-class C.E. opportunities, spend time with peers and enjoy activities in the area.

Two ways the CDA Foundation gives are through community grants and educational scholarships. Over the years, these awards have enabled thousands of people to receive more than $109 million in care. The CDA Foundation has announced the recipients of four annual awards and educational scholarships.
