CDA and a coalition of health care organizations aiming to stop Medi-Cal rate cuts implemented by the state filed a petition with the Supreme Court on Friday. The Petition for Writ of Certiorari asks the Court to reverse the decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upholding the rate cuts.
Earlier this month, the state implemented a 10 percent reduction on fees, which includes a “clawback” of the fees received since June 2011 when the budget was authorized.
This latest action before the Supreme Court includes the following health care organizations: California Medical Association, California Pharmacists Association, National Association of Chain Drug Stores, California Hospital Association, California Association of Medical Product Suppliers, and American Medical Response. Because this issue is so important to Western Dental, it has agreed to provide significant funding to CDA as the dental representative in the legal matter.
