CDA wants to ensure you launch your career with the tools and insight you’ll need to boldly go into your profession. The concept of the three-day program for new dentists is to provide extensive and intense training, to increase your understanding of the nuances of a career in dentistry and guide you toward achieving professional success.
While much of the content will be familiar to you from dental school practice management and business curriculum, the goal will be to place emphasis on the most critical career-driving subjects to help you strive toward becoming not just a dentist, but a SMART dentist.
The curriculum for this program was established by a workgroup made up of faculty and staff from the six dental schools, volunteer dentists from the Committee on the New Dentist, Board of Managers, Council on Membership, and the Practice Support Center task force, along with industry experts specializing in legal, financial and demographic issues surrounding dentists.
Attendees will experience a hands-on approach to issues such as financial planning, critical career decisions, dental benefit plan analysis, practice and patient management, and career strategic planning. Each attendee will take the 5 Dynamics online assessment and be given a thorough analysis of how to apply it to critical career-driving decisions.
