Emergency Responder Bill Effective Jan 1

Assembly Bill 2210, the emergency preparedness bill took effect January 1, 2009.  During a declared emergency, the law allows the California Dental Board to suspend compliance with any provision of the Dental Practice Act that would adversely affect a licensee’s ability to provide emergency services and protects a dental professional from liability while providing emergency medical care consistent with his/her education and emergency training.  CDA believes enactment of AB 2210 will provide the security many dental professionals need to become emergency responders.

  • A 2-hour session on emergency preparedness will be presented at the 2009 CDA Presents the Art and Science of Dentistry in April 2009.  For more information and/or to register go to: cda.org/09.
