Medi-Cal cuts provider reimbursement by 10 percent
CDA is working to obtain more information concerning the state’s move to cut Medi-Cal reimbursement rates to doctors and clinics by 10 percent, retroactive to June 1, 2011. The federal government granted the rate cuts on Oct. 27 after the state made the request as part of a budget cutting move.
In addition to advocating against this latest attack on the already fragile Medi-Cal network of care, CDA is specifically seeking clarification and rationale as to why the state is excluding oral health from overall health by exempting from the cuts those services provided to children by physicians while not exempting the care provided to children by dentists.
CDA will keep members updated as we obtain more information.
