Primary Duties (Officer Positions)
- To conduct and supervise the business of the association and to direct the officers in the exercise of their powers and duties when the board is not in session. All decisions and interim policies of the Executive Committee are subject to review and approval at the next board meeting.
- To carry out any duties assigned to it by the board.
- To oversee the preparation of the agenda for the board meetings.
- To notify a council member, committee member, board of managers member or an ADA delegate of the commencement of a removal proceeding and the reason for removal.
- To ensure the relevance of the strategic plan on an annual basis.
Time Requirements
- 10 Executive Committee and Evaluation Committee meetings per year
- 4 quarterly Board of Trustees meetings per year
- Attendance at the House of Delegates
- Attendance at a variety of conferences and events (CDA, ADA, and other association) depending upon position
- Approximately six component visits annually
- Participation on assigned committees or councils
Qualifications, Special Skills and Knowledge
- Prior leadership experience in CDA, subsidiary, or affiliate recommended
Composition and Terms of Office
The elected officers shall be the president, president-elect, vice president, secretary, treasurer, speaker and immediate past president. The vice president shall succeed the president then the immediate past president.
The elected officers (with the exception of the treasurer) shall serve for a term of one year or until their successors are elected and installed. The treasurer shall be elected to a two-year term with eligibility to serve two terms. The speaker shall be eligible to serve no more than six consecutive terms.
