Mission Statement
The mission of the Committee on Volunteer Placement is to verify eligibility and recommend the best candidates for available leadership positions. The committee will seek to obtain pertinent information regarding available applicants and positions. The committee reviews and revises the volunteer application and selection procedures and educates the membership on the application and placement process.
Primary Duties
The duties of the Committee on Volunteer Placement (CVP) include accepting and reviewing candidate applications for volunteer leadership positions, making recommendations to the Nominating Committee to fill leadership positions throughout the organization and recommending candidates to fill other appointed positions as requested by the president.
Members of CVP may not apply to serve in other leadership capacities while serving on the committee, with the exception of ADA delegate and council positions.
Time Requirements
- Minimum of three in-person meetings each year.
- Conference calls will be scheduled as needed.
- CVP members must also have time to review applications and CV’s of all applicants (approximately 150-250 applicants per year).
Qualifications, Special Skills, and Knowledge
Composition and Terms of Office
CVP has eight members, four trustees nominated by the Board of Trustees (board) and four at-large members, who are not members of the board, appointed by the president. One at-large member must be a dentist within his or her first 10 years of practice.
The term of office of the committee members shall be two years. The tenure of a member shall be limited to one full or partial term. A partial term is no more than one year.
