Become a Volunteer Leader

If you are interested in serving organized dentistry, please review the available positions (including qualifications). Apply Now for CDA Positions 

  • You must be logged in to cda.org to complete an application. Click here for help or if you need a password reminder.
  • Applications take approximately 30 minutes to complete, and upon submission you will receive a confirmation of receipt. The application now allows you to save your application without submitting to CDA.  You can return to the online application and complete and submit it at any time through the application deadline.  Resubmissions are also accepted until the applicable deadlines.
  • Applications must include a CV (maximum 3 pages), which must be emailed, mailed or faxed prior to the deadline. Please do not include a photo, social security number, date of birth, or names of spouse or children on the CV. A CV template is available.
  • Applicants should provide up to two references on the application (who may not be current officers, staff, or members of LDC or CVP) who may be contacted for additional information by the placement committee. Letters of reference are not required.

All applications (including the required CV) are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on the following deadlines.

  • For ADA council positions, the deadline is March 1.
  • For all other positions, the deadline is June 1.
  • If either date falls on a weekend, the deadline shall be the following Monday.

CDA Volunteer Leadership Application Tips

  • Make sure you’ve read the job description and requirements of the position(s) for which you are applying.
  • Be thoughtful about the skill sets you choose. Select the skills and experience you possess that most closely relate to the position(s) for which you are applying.
  • Essay questions are critical, so take the time to complete them.
    • Make sure you answer the question asked.
    • Speak to your passion and experience.
    • This is your place to shine!
  • References should be individuals who have had direct observation of your leadership work.
    • Remember: you cannot use members of the Executive Committee, Leadership Development Committee or Committee on Volunteer Placement or CDA staff as your references.
