The fight against Big Tobacco and its deceptive tactics and targeting practices continues with CDA joining a large coalition of health care, youth and community organizations to support legislation that would prohibit the sale of flavored tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes, in California.
CDA and ADA strongly disagree with the World Health Organization’s Aug. 3 guidance advising that routine non-essential oral health care, including oral health check-ups, dental cleanings and preventive care, be delayed.
Dentists who do not prescribe, administer or dispense controlled substances may choose not to register or reregister with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. DEA registration is not required to write prescriptions for antibiotics, fluoride and other noncontrolled substances.
